LICHTY, BECKIE, GRUBB

Will W. Lichty. 62, born and reared in Orange township. Black Hawk county, died yesterday at Tucson, Ariz., where he had gone for benefit of his health from his home at Mansfield, O. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel A. Lichty, early pioneers in this county.

Born Feb. 11, 1866, Mr. Lichty spent his early life attending school in Waterloo and for a time was employed in the Wyant drug store. In 1887 he was graduated in pharmacy from Iowa State university. In 1889 he purchased a drug store at Carleton, Neb., where he was a prominent factor in the business and civic life of the community for 30 years. He married Miss Pauline Beckie in Carleton.

After retiring from business Mr. and Mrs. Lichty established their

home in Mansfield. His failing health impelled him to spend the winter in Arizona.

Surviving, besides the widow, are two sons, Lester, professor of electrical engineering, Yale university. New Haven, Conn., and Harold, Mansfield; a daughter, Mrs. Wllma Grubb,

Mansfield: two brothers and a sister, E. E. Lichty. Carleton. Neb., and J. W. Lichty, 260 Hammond avenue, and Mrs. S. J. Lichty, 1017 Third avenue west.

Funeral services and burial will be at Carleton, Neb., Thursday, March 8.
