LICHTY, SCHUCKNECT, BEHRENS

Claude S. Lichty, 66, of 1202 Mulberry St., died of complications of a heart ailment at 6 a.m. Friday at Allen Memorial Hospital.

He was born Apr. 15, 1887, at Elma, the son of Benjamin and Mary Lichty. He came to Waterloo with his parents when 15 years old. He was graduated from East High School in 1905. After graduation he joined his father in the sheet metal business.

Mr. Lichty operated the Lichty Metal and Heating Co. following his father’s death. He retired about three years ago. He was married to Mrs. Hattie Schucknect Dec. 27, 1936, in Quincy, Ill. Mr. Lichty attended Grace Methodist Church and was a member of Waterloo Lodge No. 290, BPOE.

Surviving are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ernest Behrens, Quincy; a niece, Dorothy Lichty, Los Gatus, Calif.; a nephew, Vern Lichty, 420 East Seventh St., and two step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son by a previous marriage and two brothers.

The body may be seen at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home after 10 a. m. Saturday. Funeral services are being planned for Monday.
