LICHTY, SMITH

Mrs. Madora Lichty, wife of B. F. Lichty, died at 9:30 a. m. Wednesday in her home at 1202 Mulberry street, after a year’s illness. She was 81 years old. Death was caused by complications incident to advanced age.

Born July 23, 1859, at Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Mary Smith, she was married to Benjamin Franklin Lichty at Janesville, Iowa, June 21, 1873, the couple moving to Waterloo in 1902.

Surviving are the husband; one son, Claude S. Lichty, 1202 Mulberry street; three grandchildren, Dorothy and Verne Lichty, 1202 Mulberry street, and Evan Lichty, Berkeley, California, and one brother, Rev. Parker Smith of Ravenna, Nebraska.

Preceding her in death were two sons, N. Art and Verne E.; one grandson, Wilfred, and five brothers and sisters.

The husband and son are proprietors of the Lichty Metal & Heating Co.

Funeral will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Kistner funeral home. Rev. James Marlin, pastor of Grace Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in Waterloo cemetery.
