Funeral services for Mrs. Belle E. Lichty, 83, of 1424 Hawthorne Ave., are pending at the Locke Funeral Home.

She died at Americana Nursing home Thursday at 3:30 a.m. of complications of age.

Mrs. Lichty was born at Berlin, Pa., April 8, 1889, to George and Mary Hoger [sic] Smith, and was married to John D. Lichty Sept. 2, 1915, in Waterloo.

She formerly taught school in Orange township, and was a member of the Church of the Brethren.

Survivors include one son, John S., 2723 E. 4th St.; four daughters, Mrs. John Phillips, Golden, Colo., Mrs. Lorene Dobson, Ft. Collins, Colo., Mrs. Daniel Loonan, Gilbert, and Mrs. Raymond Cockerham, 1413 Hawthorne Ave; two brothers, Harry Smith and Claude Smith, both of Berlin, Pa.; 26 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son, three brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call after noon Friday at the Locke Funeral Home.
