GEORGE B. COOK.
Funeral services for George B. Cook, 78, who died Thursday at his home, 810 Walnut street, will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday from the home, Rev. Earl A. Roadman, pastor of Grace Methodist Episcopal church officiating. Burial will be at Waverly.

George B. Cook was born July 22, 1848, in Tioga county, N.Y. He came to Bremer county with his parents in 1857, settling on a farm in Warren township. His first business venture was a drug store at old Tripoli. Later, when the railroad came thru the present town of Tripoli, he moved there and established a general merchandise store.

He operated the store in Tripoli for many years and was for some time an officer of the Tripoli Savings bank, being one of its organizers. He came to Waterloo in 1906.
