Mrs. Florence Thresher

Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Shull Thresher, 71, who died of a heart attack Thursday at the Clay Street Nursing home, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at O'Keefe & Towne funeral home. Rev. Spencer Gentle of the First Brethren church will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.

Mrs. Thresher was born June 9, 1879 at Henderson Station, Ill.(Illinois), the daughter of Samuel and Mary Joann Shull. She was married to Michael Thresher July 10, 1897, at Tuscola, Ill.

The couple farmed for a time in Illinois and Nebraska, then moved to a farm near Nashua, Ia. They came to Waterloo in 1926.

She is survived by her step-mother, Mrs. Alice Shull of Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Mina Johnson of Paxton, Ill.; a brother, James Shull of Toledo, Ill.; five daughters, Mrs. Gladys Schroeder of 1927 Lafayette street, Mrs. Bessie Stagner of Argo, Ill., Mrs. Opal Fairhurst of 724 Rainbow drive, Cedar Falls, Miss Goldie Thresher of 42-1/2 Cascaden avenue, Mrs. Sylvia Weighley of 1201 Leavitt street; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons.
