CEDAR FALLS - Harriett Jane Shannon, 84, of Cedar Falls, died at home Thursday, Feb. 12, of cancer. She was born April 13, 1913, in Mason City, daughter of Jack and Rose Supple Gearhart. She married Stratton Shannon on Sept. 20, 1941, in Mason City.
Survived by: her husband; a son, Dr. John Shannon of Pensacola, Fla.; three daughters, Mary Patricia Van Oort of Cedar Falls, Jo Ann Laing of La Jolla, Calif., and Lynn Kimble of Cedar Falls; 11 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a brother, John Gearhart.
Proceeded in death by: a brother, Robert Gearhart; and a sister, Mary Stoko.
Memorial services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service. There will be no viewing; her body was cremated.
