Martin N. Johnson, Sr

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Funeral services for Martin N. Johnson, Sr., of Cedar Falls and formerly of the Jesup area, will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, at the American Lutheran Church, Jesup, with the Rev. John R. Reigstad officiating. Burial will be in the Littleton Cemetery. Friends may call at the White Funeral Home in Jesup after 4 p.m.Tuesday.

Mr. Johnson, 73, died of natural causes Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997, at Sartori Memorial Hospital, Cedar Falls.

He was born Dec. 17, 1923, in South Dakota, the son of Louis E. and Margaret Effie (Williams) Johnson. He married Ethel Marie Westendorf Dec. 6, 1947, in Chicago. Mr. Johnson worked for Rath Packing in Waterloo for 30 years. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Jesup.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel of Cedar Falls; two sons, Martin "Bud" of Cedar Falls, and Richard R. of Sarasota. Fla.; two daughters, Lynn Schares and Nancy Bly, both of Jesup; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Alice Bergman of Jesup.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Louis E. Jr., Robert and George.
