CEDAR FALLS - Funeral services for Sylvia Doty will be 10: 30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 3 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Doty, 72, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.
She was born Dec. 16, 1924, in Sumner, the daughter of Louis and Hattie (Siegfried) Zander. She married Kenneth L. Doty on Feb. 22, 1947 in Oelwein. He preceded her in death May 19, 1981.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Shadwick of Solon; one granddaughter; one brother, Victor Zander of Oelwein; and one sister, Leona Edgeton of Fairbank.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth; and one brother, Wilbur Zander.
Memorials may be made to the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls.
