Florence E. Flaucher
WATERLOO - Funeral services for Florence E. Flaucher will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at The Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo.
Friends may call from 3 until 7 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Flaucher, 88, died of natural causes Saturday, Jan. 3, 1998, at an area care center.
She was born June 1, 1909, in rural Hazleton; the daughter of Marwood Levi and Mabel Florence Miller Short. She married Amos B. Flaucher on Jan. 19, 1928, in Fayette. He died April 15, 1981.
Survivors include one son, Lawrence H. "Jack" of Birmingham, Ala.; three daughters, Marlys J. Verbeck and Norma I. Bird, both of Waterloo, and Velma R. Falck of Oelwein; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Amos; one grandson, Andrew B. Verbeck; three brothers, Carl, Harold and Wendell Short; and two sisters, Mertie Allen and Grace Toale.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
