Last Rites for Mrs. T. Elliott held Sunday.

Mrs. Tom Elliottt, So. of this city, passed away Friday morning at 7:15 in Allen Hospital, Waterloo, at the age of 69 years. She had been a patient in the hospital since the preceding Sunday and had been ill for three weeks. Death was due to complications and the effects of a heart attack, suffered at the beginning of her illness.

As Anna Kaiser she was born Sept. 12, 1884, to George and Bertha (Goothardt) Kaiser on the Kaiser homestead six miles south of La Porte City in Bruce Township, Benton County. All of her life was spent in that area and in La Porte City with the exception of one year's residence in Missouri. On Dec. 20, 1905 she was united in marriage to Thomas Elliott at the home of her sister, Mrs. Roy Brown in Bruce Township. She and her husband farmed in this vicinity until moving to their home at 903 Pine St. in La Porte City in 1941.

Surviving are her husband; five sons, George, Harold, and Donald of La Porte City, Tom Jr. of Wateloo; four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Mabel) Zobel of Garrison, Mrs. Clarence (Charlotte) Peters, Mrs. Clifford (Elizabeth) Niemeyer and Mrs. Burdett (Marjorie) Rausch, La Porte City and 26 grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Phillip Kaiser of Independence and Louis Kaiser of Garrison and seven sisters, Mrs. Nettie Skiles, Mrs. Sophia Loveless, Mrs. Henry Mahood, Mrs. Emma Walker, and Mrs. Ray Runyan of La Porte City, Mrs. Lizzie Hill of Mt. Auburn and Mrs. Walter Wilson of Souix Falls, S. Dak.

One son, one brother and one sister preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon. A prayer service for relatives was conducted at 2:15 in the Elliott home by her grandson, Walter Zobel, theological student at Westmar College, LeMars. Funeral services at the Methodist church at 2:30 were in charge of Reverend D. R. Corrick and included the reading of one of her favorite poems. Reverend E.E. Shaffer of Vinton, former pastor of the United Brethern church at Fairview, preached the sermon. Mr. and Mrs.

Clifford Burr, accompanied by Jim Burr as organist, sang "Abide With Me" and Mr. Burr accompanied by Mrs. Burr sang "The Lord's Prayer." Nephews served as casket bearers. They were Ralph Brown, Don Runyan, Richard Mahood and Russell Elliott of La Porte City, Ivan Hill of Chicago and James Skiles of Dysart. Burial was in the family lot in West View cemetery.

Out of town relatives besides the immediate relatives who attended the funeral were Mrs. Walter Wilson and daughter of Souix Falls, S. Dak., Mrs. D.B. Williams and Mrs. Maymie Gotthardt of Rock Island, Ill, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Hill of Chicago, Illinois, Mrs. Lizzie Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Hill of Mt. Auburn; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Walker and Mrs. Laverne Bradfield of Oelwein,; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Tachudi of DeWill; Miss Mildred Loveless of Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Philip Kaiser of Independence; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kaiser and family of Garrison; Mrs. Clifford Brown of Dysart; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Brown of Brandon; Mr. and Mrs. Chet Snovel of Eldora; Mr. and Mrs. Clark Kaiser of Vinton; Mrs. Minnie Walters and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Jannette of Cedar Falls; Mrs. Irene Shaffer of Toledo; Mr. and Mrs. Dexter Moberly, Harvey Moberly, and Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Kaiser and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dexter of Waterloo.

Out of town friends included Andrew Moberly of Colorado and others from Garrison, Mt. Auburn, Dysart, Buckingham, Waterloo, Brandon, Williamsburg and Vinton.
