Nettie Skiles found Dead, Rites Monday.
Seventy-five year old Nettie Skiles of La Porte city was found in her bed Friday Morning, July 11. A neighbor found her at her summer home 1/2 miles west of 1 1/2 miles south of Mt. Auburn.
Nettie Skiles was born on a farm in Iowa May 16, 1883 to George and Bertha Kaiser. Mrs. Skiles was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one son. She is survived by one son, James Skiles of Dysart; six sisters: Mrs. Sophia Loveless, Mrs. Henry Mahood, Mrs. Emma Walker, Mrs. Ray Runyan all of La Porte City, Mrs. Lizzie Hill of Mt. Auburn and Mrs. Helen Wilson of Souix Falls, S. Dak., and two brothers, Mr. Phillip Kaiser of Independence and Mr. Louis Kaiser of Garrison.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 14, at the Johannsen Funeral Home by the Reverend Donald Corrick. Fairview cemetery, four miles south of La Porte City was the place of burial.
