Obituary--Kaiser
Philip Henry Kaiser, 76, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Everett Sanders and husband on Third street, at seven o'clock, Wednesday morning, Oct. 6th from coronary thrombosis. He had returned from Iowa City Tuesday where he had received treatment for spinal trouble, at the University hospital for three weeks and seemed to be improved.
He was the son of Conrad and Barbara Kaiser born September 16, 1870 in Lee County near Mendota, Ill. When twelve years old he came with his parents to Brandon county and located near La Porte City in the Fairview vicinity where he grew to manhood on his father's farm. On August 31, 1891 he was united in marriage to Carrie Stirm at Vinton. He continued to farm in Benton and Buchanan Counties until the death of his wife on March 15, 1940. Since then he has lived with his daughter, Mrs. Sanders and son, Paul, at Aurora, Iowa. He is survived by two daughters and seven sons; Mrs. Mildred E. Sanders of La Porte City, Mrs. Mabel Baylor, Gladstone, Ill, Cato L. Kaiser near Jesup; Sheldon of Orange township near Waterloo; Philip near La Porte City; Letson B. of Los Angeles, Calif., J. K. and Paul K. of Aurora, Iowa,and Caron S. of Grand Junction, Colo., thirteen granddaughters, thirteen grandsons, three great grandchildren and one brother, Hartman Kaiser of La Porte City also survive.
