Heil Rites Saturday

Charles Wayne Heil, longtime employe at the Crane and Monorail systems Division of Acco, formerly the Louden Machinery Co., died at 5:02 p.m. Wednesday at the University Hospital in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Wilken officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Vinton.

Charles Wayne Heil, 58, was born Nov. 5, 1915, at Vinton, the son of Phillip and Alma Robe Heil. He was reared and educated in Vinton.

Heil graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in engineering and taught naval training courses at the Iowa State University of Iowa.

For several years Heil was chief engineer at the Louden plant. More recently he had served as manager of product development.

He was married March 27, 1937, at Kahoka, Mo., to Verna A. Swendseid who survives. Heil had been employed in the engineering department at the engineering department at the Fairfield plant for the past 30 years.

He attended the Methodist Church and was a member of BPO Elks, 1192.

In addition to his wife, Heil is survived by one son, Terry W., State College, Pa.; one daughter, Mrs. Kay Diers, Brighton; six grandchildren; and a brother, Glenn, Waterloo. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son in infancy.
