Grafton native Ernest E. Walk, 68, a Vinton resident since 1940, died Saturday, December 22, 1984, in a Vinton hospital.

Funeral services were held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Vinton. Burial was in the Grafton Cemetery, Grafton.

Mr. Walk was born December 8, 1916, in Grafton to Alfred and Katie (Rademaker) Walk. He graduated from the Iowa Braille and Sightsaving School in Vinton in 1936, then graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. He became an elementary education and social studies teacher at the Vinton school for 23 years, retiring in 1979.

He married Helen Wright; she died October 31, 1973. On June 24, 1978, he married Phyllis Burns and they lived in Vinton.

She survives him along with two brothers, LaVern and Rueben Walk, both of Grafton; four stepdaughters; along with nine step-grandchildren.
