BABY DIES AFTER
EATING BOX OF PILLS
Gets Hold of Medicine In-
tended for Another Mem-
ber of Family

--------

The sad death of little Dalton
Scott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen
Scott, who reside, six miles northeast
of Exira, occurred at his parents',
home, Monday morning at ten
o'clock.

The little fellow had been playing
around the home perfectly well,
that morning, until an hour before
his death, when he found a box
containing some pills which were
being used as medicine for another
child, and child-like he had de-
voured a number of them before he
was discovered by his mother. Almost
immediately after eating the
medicine he was taken with convulsions
and passed away before
medical help could be procured, al-
though the frantic parents did everything
possible to save the child's
life.

The little lad was two years old,
and is survived by his parents, one
brother, and one sister.

Funeral services were held Tues-
day afternoon at the home, of the
grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Boy
Beers in Exira, conducted by Rev.
Fuller of Audubon. Interment was
made in the Exira cemetery.

CARD QF THANKS

We wish to express our heartfelt
thanks to all for their kindness
during the sickness and death of
our beloved baby; to the pastor
for the comforting words, and the
singers, and also for the beautiful
floral offerings.
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Scott
and Children

Note: Parents of Dalton Lavern Scott were William Glenn Scott and Ruth Estella Beers.
