Family in Less Than
A Month

Anna E. Rendleman was born in
DeKo(a)lb County, Georgia, on June
13, 1868, and died in Pasadena,
California, January 29, 1920.
Her parents, Dr. J. M. and Flora
A. Rendleman came from Georgia
to Exira in 1872, where the family
have since resided except from 1883
to 1890, during which time they
lived in Audubon, Iowa.

On December 4, 1884, Anna E.
Rendleman was married to E. D.
Cotton of Exira. To this union
were added a daughter, Vera, who
died at the age of seven years, and
a son, Edward Galen, who died in
Pasadena, California, the 5th of
January this year. Left to mourn
her departure are the husband, E.
D. Cotton, a daughter, Hallie and
son, Joy M., also the father, Dr. J.
M. Rendleman and brother, John
H. and one sister, Mrs. Hallie Miller
of Des Moines.

Mrs. Cotton had suffered from
heart disease for a number of years.
Last September the family moved
to Pasadena with the hope the climate
might benefit her and her
son, Galen, but no improvement
was apparent and the death of
Galen was soon followed by the
death of Mrs. Cotton about three
weeks later.

Mrs. Cotton was a most devoted
and affectionate mother. The family
have the sympathy of all Exira
friends.

Note: Parents of Anna Eliza Rendleman were James Martin Rendleman and Flora Ann Houston. Anna was married to Edward Douglas "Ed" Cotton.
