Died Wednesday
Afternoon Here

He Was A Patient Several
Weeks At Home Of
Miss Rose McNally

George Eagen, well known
Greeley township resident, died at
4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at
the home of Miss Rose McNally in
Exira, where he had been a patient
for several weeks. Death was due
to a complication of disease and an
infection in one foot.

Mr. Eagen was born May 22,
1861, in Johnson county, Iowa. He
came to Audubon county with his
parents in 1889, living at home un-
til 1884, in which year he went to
Nebraska to take up a homestead
which he sold in 1890 and return-
ed to Audubon county. He rented
land until 1898, when he purchased
a farm in Greeley township where
he had since made his home. He
was married to Cordelia Parrott
on February 3, 1892. Mrs. Eagen
died several years ago.

He is survived by one daughter,
Mrs. August Dutler, and one son,
George, both of this county; two
brothers, James of Greeley town-
ship and Thomas of Thunderhawk,
S. D., two sisters, Mrs.Mary
Campbell of Audubon and Mrs. M.
J. Kerwin of Carroll. Nine grand-
children also survive.

Funeral services will be held
Friday afternoon at the home in
Greeley township at 1:30 and at
the Exira Christian church at 2:30.
The Rev. Charles R. Hagee will
conduct the rites. Burial will be in
the Exira cemetery.

Note: Parents of George Andrew Eagen were Thomas Eagen and Catherine E. McTigh, Irish immigrants.
