Brayton Woman
Died Following
Lengthy Illness

Mrs. Anne Blom Died On
Tuesday Morning.
Funeral Friday

Mrs. Anne Margarethe Blom
died at her home in Brayton Tues-
day morning following a long ill-
ness.

Suffering from a complexity of
ailments incident to her advanced
age, she had been in poor health
si(n)ce Thanksgiving day and con-
fined to her bed since December.

She was born June 14, 1865, in
Schleswig, Denmark, a daughter
of Mathias and Christina Hansen
Rasmussen, and came to this coun-
try in 1881, locating in Illinois.
Later she moved to Alta, Ia., and
in 1885 was married to Jake Blom
in Atlantic. He passed away in
1896.

Mrs. Blom is survived by five
children, Mrs. Hans Jorgensen of
Exira, Arthur Blom of Livingston,
Mont., Holger at home, Mrs.
Frank Smith of Brayton, and Mrs.
Martin Anderson of Atlantic. An-
other son, Balda, died when a
child. Also surviving are a brother,
Jacob Rasmussen of Brayton, and
a half-brother, Chris Rasmussen
of Billings, Mont.

Mrs. Blom was a member of the
Oak Hill Danish Lutheran church, west of
Brayton. The Rev. Henrik Plam-
beck will officiate, and burial will
be in the Oak Hill cemetery.
