Harlan Rogers
Dies Following
A Long Illlness

Funeral Services Will Be
Held Friday Afternoon
At Christian Church

Harlan Rogers, well known Ex-
ira man died Wednesday at his
home here following an illness of
several months. Death was due to
cancer of the liver and complica-
tions. He had been bedfast since
the first of August this year.

Harlan Harry Rogers was born
north of Atlantic in Cass county
February 8, 1903. His mother died
when he was but three weeks old
and his aunt, Mrs. H. W. Rogers,
took him to raise. He had spent
his entire lifetime in this county.
He was married to Miss Zelda
Viola Kosnopfal in Atlantic on
July 33, 1930.

Surviving besides his widow are
his aunt, Mrs. H. W. Rogers, and
three cousins, George and Carl
Rogers of Exira and Mrs. M. B.
Elwood of Prescott.

Mr. Rogers was a former em-
ployee of the county but had not
worked since early this year. At
one time he was well known
throughout this section as an
athlete having been especially good
at wrestling and boxing.

Funeral services will be held
at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at
the Exira Christian church con-
ducted by the Rev. Charles R.
Hagee. Burial will be in the Oak-
field cemetery.

Note: Parents of Harlem Harry Rogers were G. W. LeMar and Edna V. Shirey. He was raised by his aunt and uncle Horatio William "Race" Rogers and Lenora "Nora" Shirey.
