Heart Ailment
Fatal Saturday
To F.L. Freeman

Funeral Services Held At
Brayton Baptist Church
Wednesday Afternoon

Frank L. Freeman, 77, well
known veteran grocer of Brayton,
died of a heart ailment at 10:30
Saturday morning at his home
there. He had been suffering with
the ailment for some time, but had
been in a critical condition for
only a few days prior to his
demise.

Mr. Freeman was Brayton's old-
est active business man, having
been there a long number of years.

Frank Lincoln Freeman was
born at Plattsville, Illinois, on
April 27, 1860, a son of the late
Charles and Jeanette Freeman.
He came to Brayton with his
mother at the age of 17 years and
had resided there continuously
since. He was married to Miss Mae
Powers in Exira on December 11, 1888.

Surviving are his widow and
four children, Mrs. L. I. Heath of
Atlantic, Mrs. Holger Nelson of
Omaha, Mrs. Virgil Hicks of
Mason City and Charles D. Free-
man of San Francisco, California;
six grandchildren and two great
grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Clara
Matthes of Joliet, Illinois; a
brother, A. C. Freeman of Med-
ford, Oregon, and a half brother,
J. P. Pomroy of Hood River,
Oregon.

Funeral services were held Wed-
nesday afternoon at the Brayton
Baptist church with the Rev. Wil-
liam Best, pastor of the First Con-
gregational church in Atlantic, of-
ficiating. Burial was in the Oak-
field cemetery.

A ladies quartet composed of
Mrs. H. J. Hansen, Mrs. S. R. An-
derson, Mrs. Wilbur Bills and
Mrs. Marvin Frederick, sang
"Abide With Me," "Jesus Saviour
Pilot Me" and "Beautiful Isle of
Somewhere."

Pallbearers were H. M. Bartlett,
Theo Ordway, Roscoe Essington,
H. J. Hansen, C. K. Hallock and
Marinus Jensen.

Note: Parents were Charles B. Freeman and Jeannette Austin.
