Mrs. Anna Daugaard Suc-
cumbs To Long Illness.
Funeral Held Sunday

Mrs. Anna Margaretha Knos
Daugaard, widow of Soren P.
Daugaard, mother of nine children
and a native of Germany, died at
9 o'clock Thursday night at her
home in Brayton following a lin-
gering illness.

Death was attributed to heart
disease. She had been in poor
health several years and had been
bedfast since Sunday.

She was born in Schleswig, Ger-
many, Sept. 27, 1858, a daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Knos. Miss
Knos grew to womanhood
in Schleswig and was married
there to Mr. Daugaard on June 4,
1880. In 1881 they came to the
United States and settled on a
farm west of Brayton where they
made their home until retiring
from farming in 1915 and moving
into Brayton, living there unitl
their respective deaths. Mr. Dau-
gaard died Aug. 4, 1931.

Mrs. Daugaard had been a mem-
ber of the Oakhill Danish Lu-
theran church for a long period of
years.

Surviving are nine children,
Chris Daugaard and Mrs. John C.
Larsen of Brayton, Fred and
Theodore Daugaard of Exira,
Henry Daugaard and Mrs. Einer
Hansen of Atlantic and Mrs. Nels
Hansen and Mrs. Leon Baum-
gardner of Exira; twenty grand-
children, and eleven great-grand-
children.

Funeral services were held Sun-
day afternoon at 1:30 at the home
and at 2:30 at the Oakhill Danish
Lutheran church with the Rev.
Henrik Plambeck officiating.
Burial was in the Oakhill ceme-
tery.

death of his mother, Mrs. S. P.
Daugaard.
