Death of Mrs. Joe Gilroy
Occurred Here Friday

Mrs. Joseph Gilroy died at her home
on North street Friday morning, Sep-
tember 27, after an illness of several
months which she bore with much for-
titude and resignation to the will of
God.

Funeral services were held Monday
morning at nine o'clock from Holy
Trinity church in Exira with the Rev.
M. B. Aspinwall in charge of the serv-
ice. Burial was made in the Atlantic (Catholic)
cemetery.

Nellie May Tracy was born January
29, 1870 at Geneseo, Illinois, where
she lived until her marriage to Joseph
G. Gilroy in March 1902. Mr. and
Mrs. Gilroy lived on a farm near this
place (Exira) until 1916 when they moved to
town where they have since resided.

Mrs. Gilroy is survived by the hus-
band and twin daughters, Mary Dor-
othea and Anna Laura. A son, Joseph
Tracy, and a daughter , Anna Mary,
died in infancy. Three brothers, John,
Henry and Richard Tracy of Chicago
and a sister, Mrs. Jennie Thompson of
Denver, also survive, beside a host of
other relatives.

Mrs. Gilroy was a devoted wife and
mother and will be greatly missed in
the home and by a large number of
friends. May her soul rest in peace.
