Mrs. J.H. Bishop
Dies Following
A Long Illness--------
Had Been Resident of Coun-
ty Fifty Years. Funeral
Services Held Tuesday--------
Final rites were held Tuesday
afternoon at the Corl funeral home
for Mrs. Emma Bishop, 76, wife of
J. H. Bishop, pioneer Exira den-
tist. Mrs. Bishop died at the home
of her son, John Bishop, shortly
before midnight following an ill-
ness of several months.A daughter of James and Maria
Richter Eckels, she was born in
Ohio and had lived here with her
husband for fifty years. Mr. Bish-
op retired from dentistry about
twenty-five years ago.He and two children, John and
Will Bishop, both of Exira, survive.The Rev. O. C. Huff, pastor of
the Federated church conducted the
services Tuesday afternoon at 2
o'clock. Pallbearers were Clarence
Masching of Casey, J. S. Beers,
Lafe Simpson, Walter Hensley,
Roy Hensley and Hans Hansen, Jr.
Burial was in the Exira cemetery.
