Heart Attack
Fatal To Chris
Wolf Saturday

Had Resided In County For
50 Years. Funeral Ser-
vice Held Monday

Chris Wolf, well known farmer of
this community and a resident of the
county for over 50 years died
Saturday of a heart attack at his
home southeast of town. Mr. Wolf
was overcome while cutting wood
and his death was not known of
until a search was instituted for him
after he failed to appear at the
house in the evening. His death was
a great shock to the family and to
his many friends whom he had made
during his many years of residence
here.

Born In Denmark

Christian J. H. Wolf was born in
Schleswig, Denmark, on September
23, 1866. He came to America in
May, 1883, and settled in Audubon
county, residing here continually
until his death.

He was united in marriage to Em-
ma Jasperson at Avoca on March
6, 1890. To this union were born
six children, one daughter dying in
infancy and a son preceding the fa-
ther in death on May 7, 1927.

He had been a member of the
Christian church the past 36 years.
He had also been a member of the
Masonic Order since April, 1903,
and for several years was a member
of the O. E. S.

The Survivors

Surviving are his widow, three
sos, one daughter and the five sisters.
The sons are Arley W. Wolf of Col-
ins, Elmer C. Wolf of Exira and
Harold W. Wolf of Eugene, Mis-
souri, the daughter is Mrs. Edna W.
Shaeffer of Des Moines, the sisters
are Mrs. Matilda Hansen of Elk
Horn, Mrs. Mose Knudsen of Chi-
cago, Illinois; Mrs. Charles Jensen
of Atlantic, Mrs. Oluf Jensen of At-
lantic and Mrs. Soren Madsen of
Exira. Eleven grandchildren also
survive.

Funeral Monday

Funeral services were held Mon-
day afternoon at 1:30 at the Exira
Church of Christ with the Rev. A.
G. Whittier in charge. Burial was
in the Exira cemetery, with the lo-
cal Masonic lodge having charge of
the service.
