PIONEER RESIDENT OF
EXIRA DIED SUNDAY

Passed Away at Home of Grand-
Daughter Near Atlantic.
Funeral Held Tuesday

Mrs. Mary Pauline Parrott, long
time resident of this vicinity, passed
away at the home of her grand-
daughter, Mrs. Arthur Gray, south
of Atlantic, Sunday afternoon, death
resulting from complications. She
had been at the Gray home about
two weeks. Deceased was 74 years
old.

She was born October 10, 1851, in
Schuyler county, Illinois, the daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. John Turner.
Her husband, the late Charles Par-
rott, passed away in April 1920, and
since that time Mrs. Parrott had been
making her home at Exira and in Ore-
gon, where she lived for four years.

Deceased is survived by one daugh-
ter, Mrs. Rose Croy of Cerby Ore.,
seven grandchildren, seven great-
grandchildren, two brothers, Nate
Turner of Exira and Thomas Turner
of Atlantic, and one sister, Mrs. Alice
Parker of Seattle, Wash. One daugh-
ter died in infancy.

Funeral services were held at the
Exira Christian church of which the
deceased was a member, Tuesday af-
ternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev.
Moore. Burial was in the Exira
cemetery.
