B. F. THOMAS PASSED
AWAY IN OKLAHOMA---------
B. F. Thomas passed peacefully
away at his home in Cache, Oklahoma,
June 13, 1926, where they have lived
nearly 18 years. Mr. Thomas had
reached the advanced age of 85 years,
4 months and 1 day. He had been an
invalid, bedfast most of the time
since a stroke of paralysis on last
Christmas eve.Funeral services were held at the
Christian church on Tuesday, June 15,
when a large number of friends and
relatives gathered with beautiful floral
offerings to pay their last respects to
one whose life has been a fine example
of earnest Christian faith.A number of G. A. R. comrades and
their wives with a beautiful display
of the flag he loved so well recently
followed as he was borne into the
church.Mr. Thomas leaves a wife and nine
children to mourn their loss. The
children are Mrs. Lorena Witham, St.
Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Minnie Weir, La-
mar, Colo.; Ben O., Omaha, Nebr.;
Mrs. Alice Blunt, Cache, Okla.; Al-
bert M. Deora, Colo.; Arthur B. Mc-
Clave, Colo.; Mrs. Nora Miller, San
Antonia, Texas; Carl N., Cache Okla.;
and Mrs. Dorothy Woodside, Aurora,
Missouri.Mrs. Woodside and family were
present at the funeral and they with
Mrs. Thomas accompanied the remains
to their old home at Greefield, Mo.,
where they laid him to rest beside his
mother and his daughter, Mrs. Lily
Williams, who preceeded him many
years. Arthur B. Thomas arrived in
Aurora in time to accompany them to
Greenfield, where they were met by
Ben Thomas for the last sad farewell.Mrs. Thomas will remain in Aurora
with her daughter until fall when she
expects to return to her home in Cache.Note: Benjamn F. Thomas' wife was Sarah Roseanna Hamlin (1845-1934), daughter of Audubon county settlers Nathaniel "Natty" Hamlin and Margaret Terrell "Peggy" Poage.
