LONG TIME RESIDENT
OF EXIRA PASSES---------
Miss Abbie M. Andrews Dies Fol-
lowing Short Illness. Funeral
Service Held Tuesday---------
The death of Miss Abbie M. And-
rews occurred at the family home
Sunday morning about seven o'clock.
Miss Andrews had not been in good
health for several months and her
death followed an illness of only two
days duration, pneumonia being the
cause.The deceased was the only daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. G. Andrews and
was born at Andover, Maine, on Feb-
ruary 1, 1843. She came to Exira
about 1885 and has made her home
on a farm in the edge of town since
that time. She was of a retiring na-
ture and her greatest pleasure was in
reading and she was familiar with
all the best authors. She was an
honest, upright woman and a kind
friend and neighbor.She leaves to mourn her passing
the brother, Nathan Andrews, six
cousins and numerous friends. A
brother, Will E. Andrews, died about
two years ago.Funeral services were held Tuesday
afternoon at two o'clock at the home,
conducted by Rev. Robert N. Chord
of Anita. Burial was in Exira ceme-

Mrs. Fred Andrews arrived here the
fore part of the week from North
Dakota to attend the funeral of the
late Miss Abbie Andrews. She will
make a short visit here with relatives
and friends before returning to her
home.
