FORMER RESIDENT OF THIS
COUNTY DIED AT PANORA

----------

I. N. Carmichael was born in Ill-
inois, September 16, 1836 and died at
his home in Panora, Iowa, January
28, 1926 at the age of 89 years, 4
months and 12 days.

A short time before his death Mr.
Carmichael fell and broke his hip.
The shock of this painful accident
together with his age and failing
health, resulted in his death.

About forty years ago the deceas-
ed lived in the vicinity of Brayton,
Iowa, where his first wife (Mary Ann Wolf - 1835-1897) preceded
him in death, after which he moved
to Panora where he lived up to the
time of his death.

He was the father of 13 children
who with his wife, 65 grandchildren
and 40 great-grandchildren remain
to mourn his death.

Mrs. T. G. Williams of Moody, Tex-
as and Mrs. George McLane and Mr.
and Mrs. J. M. Carmichael of Council
Bluffs, Iowa, came from a distance
to be present at the burial of their
father.

Short funeral services were held
at the grave, conducted by A. Rust.
Burial was made in the Oakfield cem-
etery Friday afternoon.
