AUDUBON COUNTY MAN
PASSES AT DES MOINES

---------
Bert Henick, Well Known Man, Dies
At Hospital Following Short
Illness

---------

Bert Henick, 29 year old son of Mrs.
A. C. Henick, residing in Audubon
township, passed away at an early
hour Saturday morning at the Meth-
odist hospital in Des Moines, where
he had been taken ten days before for
examination and treatment for bodily
ailments which baffled the skill of the
attending physicians. After a thor-
ough examination at the hospital an
operation was deemed necessary and
decided on just as soon as his condi-
tion would permit, but the young man
grew gradually worse and passed
away after a period of intense suffer-
ing.

The body was brought to Anita on
Saturday, accompanied by the mother
and two sisters, who were with the
young man in Des Moines. Funeral
services were held Monday afternoon
at the Anita Methodist Episcopal
church at 2 o'clock, conducted by the
pastor, interment being made in
Evergreen cemetery at Anita.

Albert E. Henick was born in Au-
dubon county, Iowa, during the year
1897, and was the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Albert C. Henick. Since the
death of his father, eight years ago,
he had remained on the farm with
his mother. He was a young man,
well known in this community, and
his death will be regretted by the
family and a large circle of friend.

He is survived by the mother, one
brother, James Henick, of Audubon
county, and three sisters, Mrs. W. E.
Clark of Menlo, Mrs. James Rose of
Anita and Laura of Des Moines.

AUDUBON TOWNSHIP

Quite a number of people of this
vicinity attended the funeral of Bert
Henick in Anita last Monday.
