Nels M. Nelson Passed Away
At His Home in Atlantic
Result of Old Injury

An injury to his hip sustained in an
automobile accident thirteen years ago
caused the death last Friday of Nels
Miles Nelson, well known man and
brother of Soren R. Nelson, Atlantic
automobile dealer. Mr. Nelson died
at 10:35 Friday night at the family
home, in Atlantic, as the result of
complications caused by the injury.
He had been confined to his home only
a week.

Mr. Nelson was born Sept. 5, 1881,
in Engskov, Germany, the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Rasmus A. Nelson (Catherine Sorenson). He
came to America and directly to At-
lantic in company with his three
brothers Sept. 22, 1892. For many
years he operated a hardware and
implement store at Brayton and for
the last six years had been a resident
of Atlantic.

He was married to Ida H. Dettmer,
Feb. 24, 1904, at the home of her
parents near Brayton. Surviving are
the widow, a son John R. Nelson, at
home, and a daughter, Marguarite
Nelson, also at home. One son, Floyd
died April 29, 1928. There are two
brothers and one sister living. They
are Soren R. and Robert A. Nelson,
both of Atlantic, the latter making
his home with with his brother who passed
away last evening and Mrs. Agnes
Hamilton of Colfax.

Mr. Nelson was a member of the
I. O. O. F. and Modern Woodmen
lodges at Brayton.

Funeral services were held Sunday
afternoon at 2:30 at the Baptist
church, in Atlantic, the Rev. J. E.
Bruner officiating. Burial was in the
Atlantic cemetery.
