FORMER EXIRA BOY
DIES IN ATLANTIC

Laurens J. Leffingwell, ten-year-old
son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin J. Leffing-
well of Atlantic, passed away at eight
o'clock Monday morning at the Atlan-
tic hospital. The deceased was taken
ill last Friday with an attack of ap-
pendicitis and was rushed to the hos-
pital, where an operation was per-
formed, but medical skill was of no
avail and he went to meet his Master.

Laurens Jackson Leffingwell was
born in Exira on February 19, 1915,
and moved to Atlantic with his par-
ents four years ago. He is survived
by the parents, two sisters, Mary
Leone, aged 13, and Vivian Marie,
aged six, and a host of relatives and
friends. Funeral services were held at the
home in Atlantic at 1:30 Wednesday
afternoon in charge of Rev. Farwell
of Omaha. A short service was held
at the grave in Exira, where the re-
mains were laid to rest.
