James Smith Dead

James Smith, a pioneer of this
vicinity, died Sunday night, Octo-
ber 22d, at Hampton, Virginia, and
relatives are bringing the remains
here for burial. Mr. Smith was a
farmer of this section for many
years, but left here about twenty
years ago. His son, Charles is ac-
companying the body. A daugh-
ter, Mrs. Barnes, lives in Atlantic.

Funeral services will be held at
the Christian church Friday morn-
ing, Rev. Eppard in charge. In-
terment will be in the Exira ceme-
tery.
