OBITUARY
June Nadine Huff, the daughter of Emil W. and Adah Marie Wedemeyer Heckman, died at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon. Iowa at the age of 75 years. 1 month, and 11 days.
June was baptized and confirmed at the Adair United Methodist Church in Adair, Iowa. She attended the Adair Community Schools.
On February 24, 1933 she was united in marriage to Clair W. Huff at the First Methodist Church in Maryville, Missouri in a double ceremony with her brother, Glenard H. Heckman and Frankie Mae Bontrager. They farmed near Littlefield Park east of Exira, Iowa their entire married life.
Several girls have lived in their home over the years: Vera Jessen, Hazel Brownsberger, Freda Rumelhart and Norma Rumelhart. Her foster daughters include, Deborah and Sharilyn Stanley, Patty Nelson, Ruth Ann Christensen and Debbie Berger. June was employed for 7 years in the Adair Community Health Center as a cook and food manager. She then caned many chair seats and made many quilts for others. June has been a member of the Adair United Methodist Church all of her life. She has held most of the positions in the United Methodist Women and was a member of the Dorcas Circle. June was a member of the Creative Quilters, Audubon County Genealogical Society, Merry Meeters Club and the Exira Garden Club and served many of the positions in each of the clubs. She was a 4-H girls’ leader in Audubon County for over 20 years.
Preceding her in death were her grandsons, Ronald Huff and James Huff; her parents; her brother, Burdette Heckman; her sisters-in-law: Frankie Mae Heckman and Mary E. Heckman.
Survivors include her husband, Clair Huff of Exira, IA; her children and their spouses, Donald C. and Lila Rae Huff of Anita, IA; Robert Huff of Exira; Richard I.. and Sandy Huff of Houston, TX; her foster daughters: Debbie and her husband; Ray Gardner of Harlan, IA; Sharilyn Stanley of St. Paul, MN; her grandchildren: Mark Huff of Kansas City, MO; Craig and Kathy Huff of Anita, IA; Randall and Robyn Huff of Exira, Julie and Troy Jorgensen of Humboldt, IA; Brandon Landrove of Houston, TX; her foster grandchildren: Dawn Gardner and Deric Gardner, both of Harlan; Riannon Conrad of St. Paul, MN; her great grandchildren: Ricki Carey; Ben Carey, and Gabriel Huff, all of Anita, IA, Adam John Huff and Brandi Lee Huff, both of Exira; Benjamin James Jorgensen and Lacy Ann Jorgensen, both of Humboldt, IA; her sisters and their spouses: Iva and Fred Scarlett and Ruth and Merle Moore, all of Adair, her brothers and their spouses: Glenard Heckman of Des Moines, IA; Walter and Pat Heckman of Sedalia, MO; Paul and Beverly Heckman of Marshalltown, IA; Dean and Mary Ann Heckman of Adair; her sister-in--law, Ruth Heckman of Olympia, WA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family of Mrs. Huff appreciate the many expressions of sympathy and concern. Everyone is invited to meet with the family in the church fellowship room following the committal service.
