Walter W. Green was born in Exira Township, Audubon County, Iowa, December 2, 1866, and departed this life at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, December 2, 1950, his eighty-fourth birthday.
Mr. Green, who had been an invalid for many years, suffered a stroke October 16, 1950, from which he never fully recovered,
Except for three years spent in Des Moines. and two years in California, he lived his entire life in the Exira vicinity.
He was honest and industrious, a kind and affectionate husband and father, and a good neighbor. He will long be remembered for the upright life that he lived.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Howard Jay and Cordelia M. Reed Green; three sisters, Mrs. Emma C. Thacker, Mrs. Clara E. Jones and Mrs. Grace McClain, and three brothers, Henry H., Dewey W. and Edwin E. Green. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna M. Green; one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Williams, a son-in-law, Andrew W. Williams, a number of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held in the Exira Federated Church Monday afternoon, December 4. Burial rites were in charge of Dr. Hal E. Norton. Interment was in the Exira cemetery.
