Myrtle M. Wahlert, the daughter of John and Ida Foss Wahlert, was born in Greeley Township, Audubon County, Iowa and died at the Exira Care Center at the age of 93 years, 5 months, and 4 days.
She was baptized at the Exira Christian Church, attended rural school in Greeley Township, and then helped operate the family farm.
She spent most of her working years as a housekeeper and a baby-sitter for many different families, She spent much time caring for her mother, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. She helped maintain her home with her sister, Florence, until she became a resident of the Exira Care Center in 1986. She was a member of the Exira Christian Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, and her brothers: Herbert, Ralph and George Wahlert.
Survivors include her sisters: Emma and her husband, Charles Jayne, and Florence Wahlert, all of Exira; her sisters- in-law: Claudine, Vera, and Margery Wahlert all of Exira; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends,
The family of Miss Wahlert appreciate the many expressions of sympathy and concern. Everyone is invited to meet with the family in the church fellowship room following the committal service.
