Nellie Kline
dies Saturday

Death of Nellie M. Kline, 86,
occurred at 6 a. m. Saturday
at her home, following an ill-
ness of several months.

Mrs. Kline, the widow of the
late J. Wood Kline, was the
mother of 13 children, seven of
whom survive. Mr. Kline pre-
ceded in death in 1946

Born Aug. 1, 1874 at Guthrie
Center, she was the daughter
of V. B. and Isabelle Hellyer.
Her marriage to Mr. Kline took
place Dec. 25, 1892. She was
a member of the Eastern Star
and American Legion Auxili-
ary.

Mrs. Kline was of Methodist
faith. She served as Sunday
School superintendent at the
Exira Federated church for
many years and chaplain of the
Women's A???, holding the ti-
tle of honary chaplain at
death, since active participa-
tion was curtailed due to her
health.

Surviving are seven children,
Mrs. Theodore Nelson, Leonard,
Van and Dallas Kline and Mrs.
Lauren Wheeler of Exira. Mrs.
Dewey Kness of Guthrue Center
and Mark Kline of Belmond,
many grandchildren and great
grandchildren and a grandson,
Eldred Kline of Cleveland, Ohio
who was raised in the Kline
home.

Three sons and three daugh-
ters preceded in death.

Memorial services, with the
Rev. W. W. Russell officiating,
were held Monday afternoon in
the Federated church.
Mrs. Charles Powers was or-
ganist and accompanied Nor-
man Kirk as he sang "Thy Way,
Not Mine."

Grandsons serving as casket
bearers were DeWayne Wilson,
Eldred Kline, Charles Kline,
Donald, Robert and Richard
Kness.
