Blanche Davis
dies; services
held Saturday

Mrs. Blanche Davis, 86, died
Wednesday night, Oct. 12 at
Friendship home in Audubon
where she had made her home
since last November. She was
the widow of the late William
Davis and the couple were life
long residents of Audubon Co.

Mrs. Davis was a daughter of
pioneer parents, James and
Elizabeth Goforth Martin. She
was married to Mr. Davis in
1893. Her husband preceded in
death March 3, 1950 and a son
and a daughter, in infancy.

A son, Schuyler, died in 1944.

Mrs. Davis was a longtime
member of the Exira Christian
church and active in its affairs
as long as her health permitted.

Survivors include two sons,
Wayne of Brookings, Ore., and
Ai of Exira; one daughter, Mrs.
Zilpha Holden of Tucson, Ariz.;
brother, Rodney Martin of
Spokane, Washington; a sister,
Mrs. Winifred Ridgley of Exira,
seven grandchildren and ten
great grandchildren.

Three bros., John, George,
and Bruce Martin and a sister,
Mrs. Jessica Larsen also pre-
eded in death.

Final rites were held Satur-
day afternoon at the Exira
Christian church, the Rev. Les
ter Pearson officiating.

The organist, Miss Ava Nel-
son accompanied Norman Kirk
as he sang two favorite selec-
tions, "Beautiful Isle of Some
where," and "The Old Rugged
Cross."

Casket bearers were Alonzo
Kilworth, Laruen Wheeler,
Wm. Ludwig, Earl Wheeler,
Louis Hill and Martin Roed.

Interment was in the Exira
cemetery.
