ALEXANDER KLINE
Passed away at his home in Audubon Township Saturday. An old Settler
in this County.

Alexander Kline was born April 16th, 1830, in Green County,
Pennsylvania, and died at his home in Audubon Co. Iowa, four and one-half
miles east of Exira, July 11, 1908. On December 24th, 1863, he was
married to Cornelia E. Martin. To this union were born three girls and
six boys. One boy and one girl preceeded their father in death. The
remaining children, J.W., Frederick, Andrew, C.G.W. and Wallie, Mrs. Maude
Bowen and Mrs. Mary Belle Heath, with a large number of Grandchildren,
were present for the funeral which took place at the late home and which
was largely attended by sympathizing friends and neighbors.
The service was conducted by Rev. E. W. Bates from the words of Jesus,
"I have finished the work thou gavest me to do" at 1:30 p.m. Monday and
the remains were laid to rest in the Exira cemetery followed by a long
procession of relatives and friends, to await the final call of the One
who has said "Everyone of us shall give an account of himself to God."
Mr. Kline was a good neighbor, an indulgent father and will be truly
missed in the community and home.
