MRS. R. N. DAFFORD
PASSED AWAY

Caroline Rich was born in Wood-
ford County, Illinois, December 2,
1862 and died at her home near
Brayton, February 8, 1920, age
57 years, 1 month and 29 days.

She came to Iowa with her par-
ents in 1879 and settled in Guthrie
County. Two years later she was
married to Mr. John Foreaker and
to this union one daughter was
born. She was left a widow in
1883. Six years later in January,
1889, she was united in marriage to
R. N. Dafford and to this union
were added three sons and a daugh-
ter. One son, Howard, died at the
age of three years. Left to mourn
her departure are her husband, two
daughters, Mrs. Mary Rogers of
Denver, Colorado and Mrs. June
Lewis of Casey, Iowa; two sons,
George and Rolle at home; also
four sisters and three brothers, be-
sides a host of friends.

Mrs. Dafford was a member of
the Christian Church, with which
she joined in 1883.

The funeral services were held at
the home Wednesday afternoon,
conducted by Rev. Babcock. In-
terment was made at Oakfield cem-
etery. We extend sympathy.
