In Response To: Solomon L. Coltrain (Scott Coltrain)

There was an additional history of Appanoose county published in 1913 with no Coltrain entry. But then there was one published in 1986 with an entry for them that says that Solomon Lydon Coltrain arrived in Appanoose County by wagon train from Greensboro, North Carolina in 1856, then went to Red Oak, Iowa before coming back to Appanoose county.

I found Mary Croft in the 1860 Appanoose county census so they married after June 1, 1860 when he returned from Red Oak.

If you send me your email address I'll scan that entry and send it to you.
