I think that's a safe assumption, as well as Thomas. They're all in Appanoose County in the 1860 census and all born in Indiana between the years 1829 and 1833.

A couple of other points:

Every record I've found has his name spelled Ruben or Rueben, not Ruebon.

Here's a map of Douglas Township in 1896. Note how many Raney's there are, including Ruben, John and several of their children and Raney spouses, presumably widows since single women rarely owned property in those days.
