The "History of Mystic, Iowa 1887-1987" published around 1987, p 16, says "The Strand Theater was built in 1915 or so. The owners at different times were Clyde and Mable Yates, Monford and Jennie Best, and Joe and Helen Stewart."

So maybe it was there in 1916.
