I'm not aware of a California connection. My grandmother, Sara Maria Hornback, doesn't seem to have stayed in touch with her siblings except for one, Elgina Ruth. My mother never spoke of anyone else except Ruth. She (my mother) died in Jan. so now I can't ask her and show her all that I have found since then. She did have a picture of my grandmother with her siblings so she had to be aware of their existence. It's a family puzzle that I am trying to figure out.
