In Response To: Joel Staley (Jerry)

Jerry,There is a Joel Staley buried in Unionville City Cemetery, I have recently recanvased this cemetery. His grave was omitted in the previous transcription compiled in 1986.
The stone is very hard to read,it is on my list to do a rubbing of. This what is known: His grave is on the same stone as Melvina Phelps Vermilya whom he married 5 Jan. 1850. He died in June 1889 (after I do the rubbing I hope this date is more defined). His son Daniel W. Staley is listed in the 1986 transcription as having a Civil war military marker.Co. G. 2nd Iowa Inf. but either I missed it or it is not there any longer. Rhonda
