Cecile M. Fenton, 85, of Boone died Saturday, February 7,1998 at the Boone county hospital in Boone.
She was born May 10, 1912, , in Boone, the daughter of James and Ethel Bumgarner Pratt.
She married Alva Fenton June 1, 1946 in Des Moines. He preceded her in death in December 1983.
Survivors include a sister, Helen Pratt of Boone; a stepson Ray Fenton and his wife, Barbara of Des Moines; a step daughter, Elizabeth Isaacson and her husband, Max, of Des Moines; six step grandchildren; and eight step great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death for her parents.
She was a 1930 graduate of Boone high school. She received a bachelor's degree in education from Iowa State teachers college in Cedar Falls and taught in Boone County schools. She taught first grade in Des Moines until she retired in 1967. She was a member of NEA, ISEA and other professional education organizations.
The Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Stark-Welin Chapel with the Rev. RobertMatheus officiating. Interment will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone. Friends may call from3:00p.m. to9:00 p.m. today Tuesday and again from 8:00 a.m. until time for services on Wednesday.
