H. BILLBERG IS TAKEN BY DEATH AT ST. JOSPEH’S
Henning Billberg, of 1211 Drake Ave., died at St. Joseph's Hospital at 3:45 AM this morning, after having been a patient of their since April 3third.
He had been in failing health over a considerable period of time.
Born in Sweden October 9, 1875, , he was the son of Peter and Hannah Billberg, and at the time of his death was 71 years, and six months of age.
He had been at different times a miner and farmer here but had been retired for sometime prior to his death.
Mr. Billberg came to the U.S. and this county in 1892 and united in marriage with Josephine Larson, April 15th, 1903. In death he leaves three children, Lorene, at home, Mrs. Jungman, wife of Dr. O. A.Jungman. of Scotland, South Dakota, and Hilding Billberg, of East Moline, Illinois.
He also leaves two brothers, Oscar, of Los Angeles, California, and Anthony of Rock Island, Illinois, and a sister Mrs. Amelia Rosedahl, of Sweden.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Josephine, January 3, 1946 and a daughter Louise who died in 1931. He was a member of the first Lutheran Church and the United mine workers of America.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. From the first Lutheran Church with the Rev. J. S. Benson officiating, and burial will be in Oakland cemetery.Ottumwa Daily Courier

Henning Billberg, 71, of 1211 Drake Avenue died at 4:00 a.m. today at the St. Joseph hospital, where he was taken April 3. He had been in failing health four years and bedfast since since a hip fracture two years ago.
He was born in Sweden, Octoer 9, 1875, the son of Peter H. and Hannah Billberg. He came to Centerville in 1892 and since lived here except for a few years at Exline. His first marriage was September 16, 1899 to Miss Olga Stenberg who died six weeks later. His second marriage was to Miss Josephine Larson in Ottumwa April 15, 1903. She died Janauary 3, 1946. He was a farmer and for many years was a night watchman for the Center coal mine in Centerville. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. O. A. Jungman of Scotland, S. D. and Miss Lorene Billberg at home. one son, Hilding Billberg of East Moline, Illiniois, two brothers, Oscar of Los Angeles and Anthony of Rock Island, one sister, Mrs. Emilia Rosedahl of Sweden, and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Louise Billberg, 16 years ago. The body is at the Johnson funeral home.
