Former Local Resident Dies
Miss Sigrid Krans, 200 N. 6th St., died at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, in Levering Hospital in Missouri, where she had been a patient since Sunday.
The body was removed to the Schwartz funeral home where services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday. Reference Ralph A. Claus pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hannibal, officiated, and interment was Olivet Cemetery.
Miss Krans was born July 18, 1884, in Bjov, a daughter of the late Carl P. and Bessie Benson Krans. She came to this country to Centerville, Iowa, with her parents in September 1893, going to Hannibal in March 1924.
Miss Krans operated the Imperial Ice Cream Parlor at Fifth Street and Broadway in Hannibal from 1925 to 1945.
She was a member of Hannibal chapter number 94, OES, and the Royal Neighbors.
Surviving are a brother, Helgie R. Krans, two sisters, Mrs. Lillie A. Garrett and Miss Erna Krans; one nephew, Harold Garrett; one great-niece, Ann Garrett, and great nephew, Bill Garrett, all of Hannibal.
Preceding Miss Krans in death besides her parents were a brother, Eaver, and sister who died in infancy.
