PETE STRANDBERG CALLED BY DEATH AT SON’S HOME
Well Known and Long Time Resident Dies after a Short Illness
Many Mourn
Peter Strandberg, long time and well known resident of this city at 1007 South Eighteenth, was taken by death at 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning. His Death occurred at the home of his son Hubert Strandberg.
It came as a shock and deep sorrow to the many friends and relatives for Mr. Strandberg had seemed in fair health until a few days before his death.
He was born in Kjalna Skine, Sweden, spending his boyhood there and it was at the age of 21 that he left to come to the United States in 1889. Shortly after he arrived he became a naturalized citizen.
Mr. Strandberg was united in marriage December 27, 1900, with Ella Armanda Larson, who preceded him in death April 15 1942. To this union were born three children, one of who, Marvin, preceded his father in death March 9, 1940. The others are Hubert and Mrs. Marie Ross, of this city.
Mr. Strandberg was the last of a family of six children. Beside his son and daughter he leaves to mourn his passing four grandchildren, Peter Ross and Zanna Lee, Janan and Linda Kay Strandberg.
The body is now at the Beckner funeral home where it will lie in state until the time of the funeral, which will be held at the First Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon at 2`;00 p.m. burial will be in Oakland cemetery.Centerville Daily Iowegian and Citizen

Nils Peter Strandberg
Nils Peter Strandberg was born December 23, 1867 in Kjaina Skone (Sheina Skoney) Sweden and passed away at the home of his son, Hubert, 629 West Maple, Sunday morning at 2:00 p.m., November 21, 1943.
He was the son of Bengt and Christiana Olson Strandberg and was the remaining one of a family of four brothers and four sisters.
He was united in marriage with Ella Amanda Larson of Ottumwa, Iowa, December 27, 1900. She preceded him in death April 15, 1942. To this union were born three children: Marvin, who preceded him in death, March 9, 1940; Mrs. Marie Ross and Hubert of this city. He leaves to mourn his passing, two children, and four grandchildren. He was a good father and devoted much time and affection to his grandchildren.
He came to the United States in 1889 at the age of 21, and shortly after his arrival became a naturalized citizen. Since that time he has resided in Centerville, Iowa.
Before coming to the U.S. he was affiliated with the Lutheran church of Sweden.
