Wednesday, July 25, 1934Abraham Henry McDanel, son of Nathaniel and Louisa McDanel was born in the state of Indiana, June 14, 1855, and departed this life, at the home of his brother, D. R. McDanel in Centerville, Iowa, July 17 at the age of 79 years, one month and 12 days.
Mr. McDanel came to Iowa with his parents when he was one year of age. Here he grew to manhood and lived his entire life. He lived at home on the home farm near Main Station until the passing of his mother, and since that time has made his home with his brother, D. R. McDanel.
In death he is survived by four brothers and two sisters. The surviving brothers are: D.R., M.E. and J.W., all of Centerville, and A.E. of Lodgegrass, Mont. The surviving sisters are: Lilly Smith of Corydon, Ia., and Mrs. Hattie Hixon of Centerville. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, three brothers and two sisters.
Mr. McDanel united with he Central Church of Christ in the year 1915 and lived a fine, christian life. He was devoted to the interests of the church and attended all the services until failing health prevented him.
Funeral services were held from the Main Station church Thursday afternoon with his pastor, H.E. Trimble, officiating. Burial was in the Main Station cemetery.
